  1. Hi St. Wolstan's TY. I am Mrs. Beth Gentrup from Norfolk Junior High in Norfolk, Nebraska. I am enjoying getting to learn about the TY. It is way different from our education practices so it really interests me. I look forward to hearing from you the students and your teacher. Thanks Roisin for the explanation. I do have a lot of quaestions and I think my students will also.
    Have a great week

  2. Welcome to our TY (Transition Year) blog Mrs Gentrup.
Transition Year is a gap year between two sets of state examinations in Ireland - the Junior Certificate (taken at 15yrs) and the Leaving Certificate(taken at 17 yrs). It is a year that allows the students to develop self directed learning skills without the stress of exams.
This is the umbrella blog site for the Year but each student has their own blogs. Some have taken well to blogging and others not so well :(
I am looking forward to the connections they will make through the student blog challenge.

  5. Well done on your success in this website. I think that a blog like this is a good project for schools to interact with students and parents. I wish that my school had a better website.
